The community opens its doors to photographers of all ages and levels of experience from youth to retiree, to discover and enjoy the magic of our diverse mix of photographic venues. If your interest is nature, industrial settings, aviation history, heritage buildings or simply the beauty that abounds along the UNESCO World Heritage designated Rideau Canal, Smiths Falls has it all.

The Center of Photographic Excellence is a collaborative effort between the Town of Smiths Falls and internationally celebrated SIGMA Master Photographer Crombie McNeill. Recognized as being one of the top 100 photographers in the world, Mr. McNeill brings a lifetime of photographic excellence to the partnership.

The community will act as a center for hosting a variety of seasonal workshops and an "Excellence in Photography" Conference which is now being planned for the early fall of 2011. Smiths Falls, the Heart of the Rideau Canal, Ontario's only UNESCO World Heritage designated site, is centrally located between Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto and the community offers open access to a multitude of photographic experiences.

Crombie McNeill brings over thirty years of diverse experience to the oversight of the collaboration and workshops will open the doors to custom shoots that meet the interest and needs of even the most discriminating of photographers.
